Tawna and Decker

Tawna & Decker (aka best buddy ever)

Hi there!

Are you a grandma that is still {almost as} busy as you were as a mother and looking for time-tested tips and hacks to …

  • Get organized and stay organized
  • Declutter from years of build-up
  • Decrease the amount of time cleaning

So you can …

Simplify your day-to-day  life so you can spend more time doing the things you love for yourself AND with your grandkids and family?

If this sounds familiar, you are in the right place!

I’m Tawna, a work-at-home mom of two grown boys and grandma of one grandson (and granddaughter arriving soon!)

I am as busy now as I was when my boys were growing up, although in a few ways the busy is different. Real-life challenges grow with you, they don’t disappear just because you become an empty-nester!

In fact, rather than my life slowing down like I always visualized, I actually have more on my plate now than when my family was young.

Our worry and responsibility as a mom never goes away. Add on grandkids and aging parents to potentially care for and the responsibilities and worry actually increase without the time increasing when you are a middle-aged woman.

I still work and I keep my grandson while his mom and dad work (this wasn’t in my plan but it has worked out well for us – I share how it evolved here.) My mom lives next door to me and I handle all of her bills, routine home maintenance, technology challenges and so many other things.

I understand the struggle of finding balance.

I, like you, have numerous responsibilities yet I also understand the importance of making time for myself. I put my wants on the backburner for many years while caring for a young family at the same time as earning a masters degree then my doctorate degree, working a full-time job and starting three six-figure businesses.

Life was crazy and if I had not learned to put a system and routine in place, I am not sure how I would have survived. I definitely wouldn’t have been able to accomplish my goals while keeping my family my first priority.

In recent years I continued to push myself aside and I struggled with finding enough hours in each day to do what had to get done. Then I realized that if I implemented the routines that worked when my boys were younger, I could do all the things I wanted to do plus the things that I had to do.

I started What Grandmas Do to share the tips and tricks that I learned and implemented during those crazy years, and have brought back into my life so it feels calm again.

I want to help middle-aged women and young grandmas just like you find the time you deserve for yourself after spending years giving to everyone around you. My routines and systems will show you exactly how to do this without sacrificing other priorities in your life.

Sound like what you’re looking for? Then I hope you’ll visit on a regular basis because I am super excited to help you make this time of your life the best ever!
